Mímēma (Greek word meaning an idea, behavior, or style that spreads by means of imitation from person to person within a culture)is an Italian group formed by Lodovica Formaggioni (aka Lodo) and Fabio Gagliandi (aka Spike), whose style combines indie pop/rock with noise music, electro and ambient music.
Lodovica Formaggioni, 1989, from Brenzone on the Lake Garda, is the opera vocalist of the group and songwriter. She approached music singing in the choir since more than 10 years. At age 12 she learned to play classical guitar. In addition to music she is interested in poetry, taking pictures and dubbing (since she was a child she liked listening to the dubbers’ voices). Her musical influences are first of all Celtic music (e.g Celtic Woman) and Epic music. Her dream? Living in New York City. Fabio Gagliandi 1988, from Brescia and Verona, interested in music and art since a long time, is songwriter and visual artist. In 2020 he recorded his first Ep, Mímēma. Afterwards, in the same year, he released Spore an in-home (la Sala di Sughero) musical project, followed by songs: Una canzone per noi, La mia risposta, Graffiti, Comunque vada. 2022 Is the year of a new single, La teoria dei vincoli, an indie pop/rock and opera mixture, a perfect example of constant sperimentation, which is the core of Mímēma’s music.
